      Neanthe Bella Palm Plant Trivia:

      • Chamaedorea elegans, the neanthe bella palm or parlour palm, is a species of small palm tree native to the rainforests in Southern Mexico and Guatemala. The parlor palm is one of the most heavily sold houseplant palms in the world.
      • It is one of several species with leaves that are harvested as xate.

      Care Instructions

      • Water : Neanthe Bella Palms prefer soil that is lightly moist, with a slight period of drought between waterings. Water when the top 1” - 2” inches of the soil are dry, likely every 7 - 10 days. Too much moisture in the soil can cause root rot, while too little can lead to brown and crispy leaves.
      • Temperature : The Neanthe Bella Palm favors room temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit (18.3-27 degrees Celsius). It can stand a low temperature of about 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius) but will die if kept in cold temperature for too long.
      • Light : Neanthe Bella Palms thrive in a variety of indoor lighting conditions, but a room with medium to bright light and a north or west facing window is best. Do not keep your plant in direct sunlight.
      • Fertilizing : Neanthe Bella Palm will flourish on a slow-release fertilizer. Apply a couple of tablespoons of a slow-release 8-2-12 palm fertilizer in early spring to give it the necessary nutrients. Mix the fertilizer into the soil, and do not let the fertilizer contact the foliage.
      • Native to the rainforests of Southern Mexico and Guatemala, The Neanthe Bella Palm (Chamaedorea elegans) or Parlor Palm is known for its air purifying properties and ability to adapt to lower light conditions.
