Larkspur is a pretty flower that signifies an open heart, passionate attachment to someone and the celebration of positivity. It is the birth month flower of July known for its tall spikes of colourful petals. The spur of this flower resembles parts of the Lark bird, hence the name Larkspur. The unopened bud of the flower looks somewhat like a dolphin & because the Latin word for dolphin is delphinus, therefore, it is also called delphinium. The larkspur flowers are associated with intense romantic feelings. The meaning of this flower is derived from stories that date back hundreds of years that taught people to believe in their capabilities. Each colour variation has a different meaning.
