Tulips - Fame and Perfect Love

Tulips make for an excellent 11th year anniversary gift for couples. The name may have been derived from the Persian word for turban which has a close resemblance to the shape of the flower or the Turkish word Tulbend meaning muslin or gauze.

In Turkish culture, tulips are a symbol of paradise on earth and have a near-divine status whereas in the Netherlands it represents the briefness of life. This flower is symbolic of love and fame while the centre of a tulip is representative of a lover’s heart darkened by passion.
